I've discovered 'Moscow Rules' first last year, and just now finished 'Secret Servant'(after arranging books in chronological order, which made it more interesting:) - would love to see more of Gabriel Allon, and also hoping that Ari Shamron is alive and well:)

Silva is one of the best espionage/mystery writes of our time.
The Allon series is Silva at his very best.

I would love to read a book about Allon and Shamon going after the Palestinians in 1972. You keep mentioning parts of the action in flashbacks, but how about the whole thing or at least the action against of the the individuals.

I realize that it might be hard for a fictional character to do what happened in real life, but you are up to it.

It would be amazing to see Osbourne team up with Allon for something. I have read every book, and will read every other one that comes out, but that would be a very fun one to read.

Searching for something to read, I found the messenger on Monday and finished the Allon series a few minutes ago. I've always been partial to the suffering of Israel but Allon's struggle with the preservation of his race and nation against the pain of the Palestinians has me to rethinking my western simplistic view of peace in the Middle East. I am, despite my desperate attempt to read and chronicle the events in the middle east, absolutely clueless regarding what might constitute peace in the middle east, aren't I? The media presents abstract views, much like Gabriel's dreams or restoration pieces with simple solutions, but they are only illusions. I am past reading to enjoying a good story and find that your narratives capture human emotions and portrays a realistic view of the struggle.

Thank you. July seems so far away.

I know that Gabriel cannot endure forever but since it is fiction, I hope his line endures, an heir maybe?

The sad part about reading Daniel Silva's books is that once I've read the last word in the latest book, I have to wait for the next new book. Too long to wait. I love Gabriel Allon- "hu cal cach sympati"- . I can't wait to read the newest, but dread to finish because then there's the wait. Love the intellectual process. Keep it up!

I love Gabriel Allon and look forward to each new book. But I also really liked Alfred Vicary in The Unlikely Spy, and I'm hoping to see a sequel someday.

I'm looking forward to July!!!! But would also love to see another Osbourne/Delaroche book. Quick Question: I'm rereading the Allon Series, but does anyone remember any references to Shamrone being in "The Society" past the Osbourne series...I'm curious to know what happens to "The Society"

Hi there,

as far as I remember, Shamron was a part of "the society" only in Osbourne/Delaroche series.

As far as Osbourne is fighting "the society" in his series, it would be interesting to team up allon and osbourne - which side would ari shamron be?? :)

I must say, I read The Unlikely Spy again last week after not picking it up for years and realized just how fresh, detailed and exciting the book still is. What a great debut book. I have been rereading everything again in the build up to your July 21 release. While Prince of fire has always been my favorite book going back to The Kill Artist, The Confessor and The Mark of the Assasin have been fun. Thank you for both your incredible writing and your sense of history and relevant timing of issues.

You know, come to think of it, 'Moscow Rules' was the most interesting book(to me at least), because, being Russian (but living in US), I thought I knew its colorful culture and characters - and, for the life of me, we couldn't figure out who Ivan Kharkov reminds us of(we've had some heated debates, lol) - that's what makes the character so great - he resembles everyone and no one, eh?

Anyway, I was(and I am sure everybody else) whether the list of cities for the summer tour is being worked on already - I know that I wouldn't want San Francisco Bay Area to be missed on that!

The Allon series has captivated me in ways that no other series has ever been able to, and I cannot wait for the next trip through Europe. I would however love to see another novel in the footsteps of the Unlikely Spy. To me this is Silva's greatest book to date. The mix of historic fact as well as Silva's unmatched creativity and spell binding story telling left me wanting much more.

Some of you have asked about Ari Shamron being in The Society in the Michael Osbourne series. You are correct, but Daniel changed his character quite a bit for the Gabriel Allon series. He considers the first Ari to be in effect a charcoal sketch of the final character. Hope that is of some help.
Best,
Jamie Gangel

Finished The Defector 5 minutes ago, and already my wife is on page 4. ABSOLUTELY DELECTABLE! (I compare it to a really fine meal or time with my lovely wife!) Silva, it was your best yet. Allon should write training manuals for the CIA. Hope there is more Gabriel in the pipeline.

What a treat to hear you speak at the West Palm Beach library and to hear what goes into your thought process for these wonderful books. Can't wait to finish re-reading Moscow Rules and the Defector so I can have a go at the Michael Osbourne series.
